30 Years in the Making

I chose clay for its immediacy. The record of a gesture with the thumb to lead into a proposition. A clean scrafitto drawing like Picasso, captured in a minute.
A quick wit scratched into a clay comment. I begin with a profile, a face, then flesh out a figure like Rodin. Glossy glazes pop like Oldenburg. Art and it's audience is my subject. I give you poetry and irony in the discipline of earth, wind and fire. From Maryborough to Brisbane to Melbourne and back, ceramics and drawing represent me and my curiosity since 1988.
